One of the ways to see if you’re a good candidate for Chiropractic care is to take this simple home test. Many lower back problems that we help every day create the appearance of a short or long leg.
Have the test subject wear a pair of hard soled shoes or bare foot and lie across a bed, face down, with arms relaxed at each side. (The head must remain straight down throughout the test.)
Pull the legs and place the heels side by side. Apply equal pressure with both thumbs to the arches of each foot. Are both legs of equal length when the bottoms of the feet are parallel? There are 3 possibilities:
Left leg short, Right leg short, both of equal length.
Bend both legs to a 90° angle so the bottoms of the feet are parallel with the floor.
Again there are 3 possibilities:
Left leg short, Right leg short, both of equal length
Your legs should be equal in length. A difference of greater than half a centimeter in any of the positions is clinically significant. Uneven leg length is a common sign of spinal and pelvic misalignment problems that often respond well to Chiropractic care. Find out if Dr Botha can help by scheduling a more thorough examination!
Perform this test on friends and family and see how many of them have possible misalignments without even knowing it.
